it was once said that all romes lead back to rome. Infact they did at one time. Everytime a new city was conquered there would be a new road from there back to rome. There would be road signs called milestones that indicated how far away from rome they were.
the roads were made out of two rows of unconnected cross beams were placed on marshy soil for the whole length of the road each beam was two meters from the next one and there was a gap between the rows. Each beam came out 40 centimeters from the road which had slots to pound stakes through the beam and into the ground. These beams supported two continuous rows of joist on top which were laid a solid series of tree trunks. On top of the tree trunks were large, flat lime stone flags, covered by a road metal of gravle and pebbles
eihhh apperently i did that wrong so im just gonna put down all the things i know about rome roads and figure it out later or everyone else can eithe way works for me ^^
