romen food

The Romans did not consider meat a principle food. In fact, Roman legions mutinied when forced to eat meat when their grain rations ran out. Beef was eaten rarely, probably for two reasons. First, the Romans used cattle for draft animals and as providers of dairy products and second, it was difficult to keep a large carcass from spoiling in all but the coldest weather.

The roads were made out of two rows of unconnected cross beams were placed on marshy soil for the whole length of the road each beam was two meters from the next one and there was a gap between the rows. Each beam came out 40 centimeters from the road which had slots to pound stakes through the beam and into the ground. These beams supported two continuous rows of joist on top which were laid a solid series of tree trunks. On top of the tree trunks were large, flat lime stone flags, covered by a road metal of gravle and pebbles.
Those new rodes will help us get around way easyer transpoting things to other contries and twons.

Roads: Roman Technology

Everybody will be glad to hear that the new Roads are finally built! The Roman Roads are hoping to be a key part in the growth of the Roman Emipre. These roads will allow the Romans to transport large armies, communicate with others, and can be used for trade. At the moment the Roman Road system is extended at over 53,819 miles and contains about 372 links! Some of these amazing roads are supposed to last almost up to 2000 years. These roads are to be named after the Censura, who is the person who is in charge of the construction and reconstruction of the roads. The main roads are from London to York, London to Wroxeter, London to Dover and Exetend to York via Bath, Cirencester and Lincoln. We talked to General Brunis Falisus quote " The roads are fantastic, it allows us to take our horses & carriages to go on nicely paved roads rather than take the long routes through the woods." The Daily Roman took a survey showing that there is a 27% trade increase and a 56% more people using the postal system, WOW! These Roman Roads were mainly bulit by the legions thmeselves. The engineers are regular members of the Roman army and have an expertise in road, bridge, and fort buliding. Also the Roman Roads will allow there to be a somewhat Postal system, having postal stations along the roads routes. The roads wil make it possible for horse carriages and ridden horses to do fast delivery to far places. Along with the postal system for the first time in history it will be possible to recieve a letter in Rome from as far away as Northern Gaul in just a few days. We will soon have all the postal stops posted in the Central Bathing house. Above are some pictures of the roads.
