Cooking & Baking
The Romans cooked their bread, cake, and pastries mostly in their own homes, if they were wealthy enough. They would bake bread and pastries in domed circuliar ovens. They woulds also cook most foods using an open hearth. For those who lived in tenements that weren't so wealthy usually had communal ovens. It was very hard for the Romans to preserve food so for fish and oysters they were usually shipped fresh to their destination.
Weatlthy Romans enjoyed Exotic Foods
Expensive f0od was a common way to show your wealth to others. Holding big parties and banquets at your villa was one way of maintaning your social status. I was more of a populartiy competetion On occasion wealthier Romans enjoyed foods like Giraffe,flamingo,ostridge and even peacock.between the wealthy.

Their were many ways the the roman drank their wine. They had t watered down, spiced and even heated. Now almost extinct Wild Grapes grew throughout the medeteranian. The rise of the roman empire saw an increase in technology and winemaking which spread to all over the empire. The most highly prized wines were the sweet white wines. These wines were usually very alcoholic and were very flammable. Becuase of this the romans watered them down with either warm water or even sat water.
Sauses & Spices
Th Ancient Romans used spices and sauses to make plain meals more exciting by adding diffrent tastes and textures. Some sauces & spices they used were Defrutum, a sause made from concentrated wine, Garum a popular sauce made from the remains of fish and salt. Pepper and Salt were very popular and were imorted from the East.
